My young man and I are besides having this issue while trying to open Skyrim from his friend'south shared library. At that place doesn't seem to be an issue on the friend's side, and we have no inkling what could be causing the error. Anyone know how to fix this?

Ok I don't know how or why, but it'south working for me now. All I did was play one of my own games for a fiddling bit, then tried the shared game over again and it worked. The game I played was an online one, so maybe try that and see if it helps you.
(EDIT: Nevermind, it locked me out again...)

The problem for me as it turned out, was that my friend was Online but was actualization Offline, and was playing ane of his games, and you lot can't play games when they are playing them.

It shouldn't affect downloading / updating when someone else is using the library though. At least it'due south never washed that to me.
i think i may have a fix. my brother had the error pop up for him after i had restarted my figurer just did not run steam yet. so i started steam up and had him attempt once again. no avail. then he restarted his steam and he was able to go his finish to work from my library. then the but thing i can suggest, that worked for me and my brother, is for both people to restart their steam and try once more.

Found the set up, fifty-fifty if the person isn't playing the same game, and so long as he's online y'all can't install a game on a shared library. Have them logout of steam or close the app first.

I'1000 able to download games from my friend'due south library even when she's online though.
