Model PG-1 (serial# Go23693)
three years sometime
they're request $2500.
establish from private party on Craigslit.
Not certain if this make is any good...we were originally looking for a yamaha u1, but nosotros'd love a infant grand and this toll seems afforable to us...

It's a bully price. You lot should try out both pianos and compare the audio and touch (activity) merely to be sure you like all aspects of the baby grand.

Welcome to the forum.

It'southward difficult to conceive of a 4'9" pianoforte as anything other than a toy or piece of furniture, but to be fair I've never played that specific piano. The U1 has a very solid reputation but condition (verified by independent tech inspection) trumps reputation as the instrument ages beyond a decade or ii. Attempt to exist objective almost sound and feel before looks if it's something primarily for educational use.

The pianobuyer site (linked at correct) should have some info equally to what yous may encounter in both the new and used market.

Ah yes, herein lies the dilemma of shopping for a pre-owned baby grand/grand piano. Misrepresentation of age is probably 1 of the most common things that happen; even so, the current owners may exist confused/mistaken/mislead themselves.

Starting time of all, descent, pre-owned (euphemism for used grin) thou/baby chiliad pianos in the $2500 range are very rare, except for the very one-time, or the very undesirable. Secondly, though I would never publically disagree with Pianobroker (I may need his professional person opinion gratuitous of accuse one of these days grin) the Sojin might be a good starter piano, depending on the condition, which only a qualified piano technician could discern.

So, should Lanette pass and keep looking? It’s difficult to say. Perhaps if the electric current possessor is fabricated enlightened that their 3 year one-time infant grand is actually 20+ years sometime, they might exist willing to come downwards on the toll even further. Simply a thought.

Best of luck with your search!

Rick

Wow, 22 years old, thank you lot all for your help! I was'nt sure how to check on the Sojin's serial #'south. I'm used to checking the yamaha's on they're site!
I'll mention to the owner about the historic period, he said he paid $7k, maybe he has the receipt and I tin come across where he purchased it!

Just FYI, we looked at a U1 and it came to find out the owner/dealer/whatsoever he was....shomehow chaged the serial # and was lying abut the age every bit well! Gee, then many dishonest people out at that place!
Thank again!

There is some mathematical police at piece of work in the minds of used piano sellers, running something on the lines of "The recalled age of a piano varies inversely every bit the square of the request price, except when the old beater is desired to exist priced as a rare, expensive, and costly antique."

Given enough data points, the function could be stated more precisely.

And I'll bet a graph would look interesting.

One style to bank check serial numbers is to post them here. Lots of the posters have Pianoforte Atlases and can look them up for you.

Hi Lanette,

I’ve always heard that something is worth what someone is willing to pay and the seller is willing to sell it for. If you lot think the Sojin baby k is something you want and would serve your son’southward musical needs, then make them an offering.

I dubiety y'all will find a like infant one thousand for less than $2500, but then once more, some accept said they wouldn’t recommend the Sojin at any toll. It’southward a tough call…

If you really desire the pianoforte, offer them $1500 and see what they say. If they say no, neither of you take lost anything. If they say “heck no”, then yous know you take made them mad grin. Who knows, they may take your offer.

Take care,

Rick

Don't buy just it because you tin get it for cheap... information technology doesn't mean you'll stop upwardly liking it. Of course you can probably sell information technology again afterwards for very niggling deviation.

A friend of mine bought a Sonjin a few years agone. I had never heard of them.and then I did some inquiry. Hate to say it, merely the impression I got was it was ane of the worst pianos to ever hit the market.

Oh really? I thought the Tokai piano was the worst pianoforte to always striking the marketplace. wink smile
