I made a deal with a friend this summer.
This friend read a good amount of romance novels, and much to my chagrin I forgot myself and said something offhandedly disparaging- which was promptly answered with 'Have y'all e'er read one?'

I made a deal with a friend this summer.
This friend read a good amount of romance novels, and much to my chagrin I forgot myself and said something offhandedly disparaging- which was promptly answered with 'Have yous e'er read one?'
To which I had to say 'No.'
So she suggested that I do so, and then tell her what I thought.
And. Um... I found this one at the library book sale and paid fifty cents for it. And I idea... hmm, time travel, could be proficient...
Read it pencil in hand, mark it up like a bedlamite, a habit I developed in AP Language and Composition final yr. What follows is the exact text of the electronic mail I sent my friend, based on the marks I fabricated a I read. Chock total of shameless spoilers, merely and then yous know.

Okay. The book I bought contained two novels, 'Fourth dimension Was' and 'Times Change'. They center on a pair of brothers, Caleb and Jacob Hornblower, from the 20-3rd century who travel dorsum to our time and meet a pair of sisters, Liberty and Sunny Stone. No prizes for guessing what happens side by side.
I'll consider each novel from 3 perspectives, and so when I've finished with both I'll draw conclusions based on the ii of them.
The perspectives are as follows:
Science Fiction. 1 of the reasons I chose this book instead of one of the others was the time travel; I find it a specially intriguing subtheme of scifi in general and was curious to meet how someone who wasn't a science fiction novelist by trade would handle information technology. So this volition be my evaluation of plausibility of the time travel mechanism and what details of the twenty third century nosotros are given, as well as the civilisation daze both brothers experience when they arrive in our present day.
Feminism. I tin't assistance it; I see every book through this lens. However, it'southward particularly relevant to this because romance novels are ofttimes criticized for beingness antifeminist or misogynistic. So this perspective will be my breakdown of the gender roles presented, the power dynamic of the relationships, and annihilation particularly praiseworthy or glaringly bad that relates to how characters of each gender are treated.
Narrative. Simply put, how's the writing? The plot, the pacing, the dialogue, the word choice? That assay will be in this department.

Book One: Time Was.
Dorsum-of-book blurb: "He was stranded in the present, merely time traveler Caleb Hornblower'south biggest predicament wasn't returning to the 23rd century... it was leaving behind beguilingly innocent Liberty Stone, who'd shown him a love more than powerful than Time Was."
Spoilerific Summary: Caleb crash-lands his ship in the mountains of Oregon during a rainstorm- and Libby is watching from the front porch of her family's cabin. She drives out, because she thinks it's a plane crash, to encounter if there are any survivors; all she finds is Caleb on the side of the route. Naturally, she brings him back to the cabin and tends his wounds. In that location's a good deal of awkwardness every bit he tries to figure out where he is, and shock when the realization hits. Because they're both obscenely good looking, a situation which could have stayed bad-mannered for a long fourth dimension turns romantic, what with her showing him a piddling about our time and caring for his wounds. Sex ensues, which (this isn't clear) is either Libby'southward first fourth dimension or the first time she'due south really enjoyed it; either way, the emotional complication deepens. Then at that place's tension almost his leaving to render to his time; he fixes upwardly his spaceship and gets it to figure out how to make a return trip, simply doesn't want to exit her, etcetera. Libby'south parents show up for some cringeworthy scenes, including i in which Caleb grabs her mom's butt, and then leave them lonely after deciding that their little daughter tin take care of herself. Launch day arrives, Libby watches the ship take off from the same porch where she watched it crash... and Caleb comes running upwards. Good news! He set up the send on autopilot; it can render to the 23rd century without him! He tin stay with her forever! How does one become a airplane pilot in these primitive times?

Analysis-
Science Fiction: Could have been better, could have been worse. Roberts clearly knows she'southward out of her depth every bit far as spaceships go, and so she keeps things vague- instead of talking almost specific controls, for instance, in the first chapter, she mentions 'the instrument console'. Instead of specific phonation warnings, as appear on other ships in scientific discipline fiction (Serenity's Cantonese life back up failure message, etc) there are 'alarm bells'. This is fine. For someone who has no gamble of writing decent 'hard science fiction', IE SF in which all the details take lengthy scientific explanations, this is a proficient option.
But let'due south talk nigh the glimpses of future lodge we go. Caleb comes on to Libby about as presently equally he regains conciousness, which aside from being gross suggests that sexual mores have changed a lot in ii hundred years. He also doesn't seem to empathize why being naked effectually a complete stranger is a trouble- "Because it seemed of import to her, Cal tugged on the sweats." This presents a bizarre picture of a future club, to say the least. And one of the biggest and most of import companies? The inanely-named Herbal Please, a tea company founded by Libby's begetter. FULL End. Tea company. One of 'the ten biggest and most powerful companies on Earth and its colonies'? Yeah right. Even if it does brand organic fuel, that coincidence is way too user-friendly. Setting bated the fact that from the things he mentions or thinks- about wood existence super rare, natural cotton being expensive, etc- at that place shouldn't exist enough resources to back up a major organic fuel marketplace, unless they're growing the ingredients in some kind of artificial system like hydroponics. And at that point, yous accept to wonder if that fifty-fifty constitutes organic anymore.
For the adjacent detail, let'south consult the volume for a quote-
"In another hundred years we'll probably take robots that volition stack the dishes inside themselves and sterilize them."
"More than like a hundred and l."
DISHWASHER ROBOTS? Does no ane do anything for themselves anymore? And the fact that clearly her guess at how they would by and large work was spot on, because all he corrected was the time, non the machinery. Again, unlikely coincidence.
Now I come up to the part where nosotros find out how the heck Cal got hither. Now, wait for information technology, wait for it... he skimmed the edge of a black hole. Um, aye, permit me repeat that 1: BLACK HOLE. AKA enormous superdense ball of affair with such gravitational pull it draws in calorie-free and will literally pull annihilation else that it gets ahold of out into one-cantlet-thick spaghetti. Created past the collapse of a SUPERNOVA. Detected not considering scientists can see it, only considering they can detect the event information technology has on the planets and stars in its vicinity. And the ane he metaphorically stumbles onto? Wasn't on the charts. "It had but been there, and his ship had been dragged toward it." Aye Correct. HE WAS Flight A 'ROUTINE ROUTE' BETWEEN MARS AND EARTH AND DIVERTED TO Avoid A Meteor SHOWER. He would not take left the solar arrangement. And there are no black holes in the solar arrangement or in our firsthand area. I think we'd observe being atom-spaghettiized. Even if it wasn't in the solar system- considering I'll admit, we know Mars was ane end of the run only we don't know the other- any spacegoing lodge is going to know the locations of every major interstellar travel risk for lightyears around the actual routes and colonies. In brusk, this is total bull. Information technology'southward too the second-most annoying matter I found in this book.

Feminism- This part starts with the back cover blurb. Yup, you read that right. The back encompass blurb, and here's why: The men travel. The women are in stasis. The men come to them, and this to me resonates strongly of a male-authorisation pattern. Information technology doesn't play out this manner, just it insinuates 'man goes off to work and exciting things, adult female stays and tends house'. So that's the first affair.
But I bet you're dying to know what Cal's like, am I correct? Well, here you become: he's a sex-crazed, arrogant, misogynistic bastard. His simply redeeming moments are when he's talking or thinking about flying, when he shows a love for something other than himself. Yous desire me to prove it? Can practise.
Page 18, first example of unwanted advances: "I only see one." Smiling, he reached up to touch her subtly pointed mentum. "One cute one."
Page 21, afterward they fall down- him on elevation of her, how user-friendly: 'And she felt like heaven beneath him.'
Folio 24, Libby's thinking: 'A ripple of unease ran through her. He'd be strong. When his injuries healed, his body would be as strong as she sensed hsi heed was. And they were alone... as completely alone as any two people could be.'
Also Page 24: 'He wasn't used to women backing away from him.'
Page 37, when he's poking effectually in her sleeping room: 'She'd said she wasn't matched, yet it was obvious that she wore things to delight a man. Apparently she preferred the romance of past eras even when information technology came to her underwear. Far from comfortable with the ease with which he could picture Libby in this piddling chocolate-dark-brown swatch with the white lace, he shoved the drawer shut once more.'
(Because she tin can't article of clothing underwear like that because she likes it for herself- it's plain to please a man.)
Folio 40, when she'due south helping him back to his bed as he tin can hardly stand up: 'But his arm stayed effectually her shoulders long enough to proceed her shut, just close plenty to brush his lips over hers.'
Page 44, an encounter in the dark when the power goes out in a storm: 'His fingers tightened on her arms, hard plenty to make her gasp.'
Page 48, Caleb's response when she asks if he'due south married: "No. It wouldn't be wise for me to desire you if I were."
Page 49, and this ane speaks for itself: "We'll get to know each other tomorrow. Then we'll slumber together."
Page 65, too speaks for itself: "I brand you nervous." His thumb caressed her knuckles. "It's very stimulating."
Also folio 65: "Relax," he murmered, and slid his paw up to the back of her neck. "I'm not going to brand love with you lot. I'g only going to kiss you lot."
Panic had her straining abroad. "No, I don't..."
The fingers at the back of her neck shifted, tightened, held house.'
Notation: This scene continues with her head 'falling back in submission'.
Page 88: "I want you, and if I stay near you lot much longer, I'thou going to take you."
Folio 89: "You lot tin have all the say yous like." Taking both her arms, he pulled her against him. "Merely I'll have something before I go."
This fourth dimension she struggled. It was pride, pride and acrimony, that had her jerking gratis. Then his arms came around her, twin vises that clamped her trunk unerringly to his. She would have sworn at him, simply his oral cavity closed hard over his.
It was nil like the commencement time. Then he had seduced, persuaded, tempted. Now he posessed, not as if he had the right, only just taking information technology. Her deadened protestation went unheeded, her struggles ignored.
NOTE: This scene continues with the post-obit some paragraphs later on: 'And she was in love.'
Page 145, mail-sex: "Why don't I sentry while you fix me a sandwich?"
She traced lazy patterns on his chest with her fingertip. "So, male chauvinism survives in the twenty-third century."
Page 201: 'In one long, possessive stroke, his easily ran up her trunk, so down once more with no lessening of force. She might have protested. There was something here that frightened her, that left her weak- not meltingly, just with an open-concluded vulnerability that made her struggle to observe her feet again. There was no gentleness here, nor was there the sense of urgent want he had one time shown her. Instead, the kiss was like a penalization, and a brutally effective one.'
Page 203: 'He couldn't stand information technology- the thought of someone else touching her, kissing her. Undressing her.'
Page 214: "Practise you think that every emotion a man has toward a woman is gentle, kind, loving?"
Further page 214: "Maybe information technology's time I taught you the rest."
Page 214-215: "Call up of this. Whenever anyone else touches you, tomorrow, ten years from tomorrow, you lot'll wish information technology was me. I'll see to it."
With his words still hanging in the air, he pulled her to the bed.'
So at that place are the solid examples. I'm sure you can run across what bugs me about Cal from these, but I have to elaborate a little flake more: his disquisitional flaw, the i that makes him utterly unlikeable in my optics, is that at more than i point he threatens, insinuates, or attempts to rape Libby. This is the adult female he'south supposedly going to love forever. Now, I incertitude this point needs belaboring, but RAPE IS WRONG. Utterly, completely, horribly wrong. Under no circumstances, under no emotional duress, is information technology acceptable or explicable. Under no circumstances is it an deed grown out of true dear. It comes from a disregard of the rights of the other person, a belief that in some way their choices are not their right, that the rapist is justified in causing pain mental and physical. Thus, at the point that any so-called 'love interest' behaves in whatever way like a rapist, he- or she- becomes abhorrent. Tin can it be handled in a way that doesn't ruin the book? Yes. I can even name one manipulative bitch of a grapheme who I actually liked a lot, considering the author accepted that her handling of sexual partners was a deep flaw and treated it as such, making information technology a part of her character and the way she related to other people. The author never condoned this adult female's behavior, and indeed built a lot of sympathy for the victim by showing the poor man'south emotional fragility and utter terror of his tormentor. And that'due south the other thing- it's just plain creepy if someone who is the victim or near-victim of a rape or about-rape forgives the perpetrator. An encounter like this should set off big, red warning lights and a siren. Peradventure a voice-over that yells, 'BAD Man Being, RUN LIKE HELL THE OTHER Management'. Non 'And she was in love'. That is not an appropriate reaction on Libby's office, nor is it an appropriate handling of the situation on Nora Roberts' part. Showing relationships where one partner is afraid of the other as normal, or even as extraordinary 'timeless loves', is ill and harmful. This is one of the flaws of Twilight, also, but I'm non getting into that.
A few more things: The apply of the discussion 'submission'. This word is a big ruby flag. The idea that whatsoever part of a human relationship should involve one member- and make no mistake, information technology's nigh always the female- submitting to the other is ridiculous. That suggests inequality in the relationship itself, at which point said relationship is no longer healthy. Unless Caleb 'submitted' to Libby at one point- which he never did- at that place is no equality.
Initiation of sex. This was handled rather amend than some of the other things. Libby really demands sex at more than i betoken, and though it's hard to tell, may do so more than Caleb. Like all things, a perfect residual is the ideal, only rather unlikely; this is better than it would have been if he had been the ane making the demands (thus sending the message that sex and sexual pleasure are a human's realm and his correct, and a woman is merely a tool to an end).
Lampshading. Libby was not as stiff as I might have liked, simply every now and and so she would out and out phone call Caleb on his sexist bullshit. My favorite: "I did you a favor, and I don't appreciate you insinuating that I should hop into bed with you just because you've- you've got an itch. I don't notice it flattering- in fact, I notice it very insulting- that you think I'd make love with a perfect stranger simply because it'southward user-friendly."
Monogamy. Let me preface this with the statement that I discover nothing wrong with monogamy in a relationship. Personally, I remember information technology's a good idea apartment out wellness-wise, equally someone who is monogamous is less likely to contract and spread an STD. And I would probably blow a gasket if I found out a swain of mine had cheated. So my issue isn't with that kind of monogamy, only with something else. Libby explains it all-time-
'She had, even as a kid, believed that in that location would be only i human being for her.'
At present, is information technology possible for this to happen and terminate happily? Of course. Is information technology common? Not at all. And is this a necessarily good for you attitude? No. Start off, scientifically- National Geographic suggests that the feeling we feel as falling in love is actually a chemical/hormonal high our bodies create. An internal drug dose, if you will, that lasts approximately four years. (Coincidentally- or maybe not- guess when nearly marriages break up? Around the three or four year mark.) Believe that or non, that'south your call.
Secondly, this attitude is not reflected in Caleb. This is something that bothers me in a lot of books, and in fact in many societal mores. The adult female is expected to be a virgin until she marries, for instance- to the point that brides in some Islamic cultures volition have (in one case would take had? Not sure if information technology still happens...) surgery (don't ask me to explain this because it'due south gross) so that their husband thinks they're 'pure'. Merely there's no such expectation of a man. Information technology helps that there's no way to tell if a homo is a virgin or not (or maybe there is, just hell if I'm going to ask someone near this). My betoken is this: The fairy-tale 'my Prince Mannerly will come up and sweep me off my anxiety and nosotros'll live happily e'er after' isn't a problem if the man is just as adamant to love one woman in his unabridged life. Then I suppose my problem with this is not the exclusivity Libby idolizes just the double standard.

Narrative: Formulaic and not outstanding, merely I've read worse. In that location was a articulate central conflict present through the entir ebook, if under the surface at first. Caleb'due south reactions to the modern world were well handled, and his fish-out-of-h2o land was somewhat plausible. Dialogue wasn't outstanding, but it wasn't awkward or jarring, and I could mostly imagine real people maxim these things. I still don't similar the pacing of the romance itself; I would have preferred to see a little more development, but if it were done to my satisfaction it would be too long for a good section of Roberts' target audition, and so I tin can let that slide. The only thing that really needed more than development was their emotional connection, as it seemed to be more pure horniness than anything else. There weren't many character details given at all,, actaully, and then there's no wonder there was footling emotional connectedness- again, it reminded me of Twilight, though it did better than that at least. Caleb's a pilot, quondam armed forces, who's flight-crazy, and that'due south all we know about his personal interests and passions. Libby is an anthropologist, likes Casablanca, was raised past hippie parents, and that'southward by and large what we get about her. Her parents showed up, only they seemed to be a plot device- intended more often than not, past my scout, to talk with Libby and Caleb and have them demonstrate through their words that they love each other. Oh yeah, and talk about the importance of love and free sex, and have some of their own. There may possibly exist a plot signal for the next volume in the fact that Libby'southward mother is pregnant over again, but I accept no style to know that even so.

Final annotation: Caleb's last name really annoyed me. Particularly when he was referred to at one point as 'Helm Hornblower'. I don't know if yous've heard of them, but at that place'due south a very famous series of naval novels set up in the Napoleonic War era whose primary character is Horatio Hornblower. I haven't read them myself, but every time someone mentioned Caleb'southward full name that was all I could recollect of. At that place have got to exist other things he could accept been called.

I read the first half of the book then skimmed the rest. It was a predictable sleezy romance novel, plain and simple. The affair that bothered me most was the fact that Cal was not fifty-fifty LIKABLE. He was a cocky centered wiggle who showed no true care to Libby's feelings but just to his own desires, and that merely sickened me. I'm reading this and thinking, "Okay, and so I accept this male grapheme who is-of course-oooh so handsome (every bit is his brother, OF course...so shallow and not realistic but anyhow) and I read the first half of the volume then skimmed the rest. Recommends it for: Fourth dimension-Travel Romance
There are 2 short stories in this volume, but they are and so similar I was...bored reading the second story. Information technology seemed to me the same story started over, but with dissimilar characters.

The first story is with Caleb and Liberty. It was not bad. It's a sci/fi (him), timewarp caused fourth dimension-travel read. I enjoyed it.

The second story is with Caleb's brother and Libertie's sister (Sunny). He's searching for his brother who went missing...Naturally, Caleb and Liberty are out of town while Sunny is staying at thursday

Two total-length stories about time travel and two brothers and two sisters (Time and Once again: Hornblower-Stone #1-2)

My Accept
Time Was and Times Alter are both soft romances, but with a twist of time travel tossed in. They're sugariness with no great dramas and very predictable.

The Stories
Time Was finds Libby Stone, cultural anthropologist, rescuing Caleb Hornblower when his ship crashes. It's a shy scholar versus the intrepid sky pilot as they each try to understand the other.

Information technology is cute that this one thousand

Two full-length stories about time travel and two brothers and 2 sisters (Time and Again: Hornblower-Stone #1-two)

My Take
Fourth dimension Was and Times Alter are both soft romances, but with a twist of time travel tossed in. They're sweet with no nifty dramas and very predictable.

The Stories
Time Was finds Libby Stone, cultural anthropologist, rescuing Caleb Hornblower when his transport crashes. Information technology's a shy scholar versus the intrepid sky pilot as they each endeavor to understand the other.

It is beautiful that this human being from the future veers into his ain cultural assessment of Libby and her circumstances. He's certainly a challenge to Libby's mental wellness as she's not accustomed to a man with his lack of inhibition, let solitary he has no idea when he is.

Herbal Delight is the company her hippie dad, William Stone, started in this very motel---a visitor famous and one of the tiptop 10 in Caleb's century. Caroline Stone is the girls' mother and an creative person whose piece of work has stood the test of time. Sam is the baby.

Times Change finds the brilliant and driven Jacob Hornblower furiously flying back through fourth dimension to rescue his brother while 300 years earlier, the perennially restless Sunny Rock is wondering why she thought she needed the peace and quiet of her parents' isolated cabin. She's nonetheless hunting for her direction, ever trying something new.

The Cover
The mint green cover is very softly pretty with its verdigris sundial and smudged pink flowers and accurately reflects the mild storyline.

The championship is a reflection itself of the first and second story as the get-go is followed by the second, and it's Time and Again.

I exercise wish that we learned a little bit more nearly Caleb and Jacob'southward world, though. Nosotros got a few little glimpses into it, but I wanted to see more! Overall, this was a good, piece of cake read.

A good picayune read that was repackaged from information technology's original Avon/Harlequin/Silhouette publishing monthly. I can't determine if I enjoyed this in spite of it being a foray for Nora Roberts into sci-fi romance or despite it being a sci-fi romance by Nora Roberts.

Great book about 2 brothers from the future meeting their loves in the late 80'south early on ninety's. Fast read for those that want to read it by the fire in a cabin setting, it volition match the temper of the volume.

I had really wanted to like this volume. I had just finished reading some other time travel romance and really enjoyed it so I was looking forrard to another good read. Unfortunately this one left me disappointed.
Spoiler alert!!!
It started off interesting plenty. Cal is a handsome guy from the future and while on a space mission he gets into a nasty storm/falling star shower, bounces of the border of a black hole and ends upwardly crash landing back on earth, in a forest some 300 years in the past.
A beautiful woman happens to be outside her cabin enjoying the tempest when she sees the aircraft fall from the sky and land nearby. Not thinking it'due south anything other than a aeroplane, she goes out in search of survivors and finds Cal who is in the snowfall, beyond the sight of the space arts and crafts. It goes downhill and gets wearisome from that signal on.
She takes him back to the motel and from the moment he wakes up all he's interested in doing is trying to go her to bed as well as trying to set his spacecraft so he can get back to his own time. The dialogue for virtually of the first half is: "She'south so beautiful but difficult, I want to have sexual activity with her." And: "He'southward then handsome, but weird. I want to have sex with him merely mustn't."
And then they practise take sexual practice, repeatedly, autumn madly in beloved (fifty-fifty though he forces himself on her and threatens to injure her on a few occasions but manifestly that'south a plough on?) and he'south torn about going back to his own time.

Office two of the book: Subsequently he decides to stick around he leaves a time sheathing for his blood brother to find. (That was actually well-nigh the end of the offset part of the book.) His brother, who just so happens to exist a handsome astrophysicist, figures out how to become back in fourth dimension from the info that Cal left for him with the intention of disarming his brother to ditch his new bride and come back home.
When he lands in the same woods and gets to the motel he discovers that his blood brother and sister in police force are away on their honeymoon but conveniently, her as beautiful sister is there to spend time with until they return. Wash, rinse and repeat the exact same storyline as the previous one.
The simply time anyone else showed upward in the story was when the sisters parents made a very cursory advent in both the start and second part and when Cal's blood brother meets some of the sister in laws friends at a guild simply so she apace gets bored of existence with her friends and they ditch them to have sex activity again.
The showtime and the finish of the book were the virtually interesting with too much filler in between. The but real "climax" in the book was during all the sexual practice. Other than that, the storyline was pretty predictable and I didn't actually intendance plenty for the characters to care if they stayed together. With the attitudes of the brothers, I recollect the women would have been better off without them.

When I remember of Nora Roberts, with my limited familiarity of her work, I would never call up to associate her with science fiction. While both "Time Was" and "Times Change," the two stories presented in this book, are yet romance novels at their heart, I was still pleased with the sci fi flairs Roberts added. The way everything was presented was well-written and seemed realistic for a potential future. Considering the stories were originally published in 1989 and 1990, respectively, I was shocked by how some of the reflections between centuries still felt relevant to modern times. When it comes to the romance side, I was fairly pleased just not completely satisfied. There were times where the characters' interactions deviated from sweet moments to moments of cringing. For "Fourth dimension Was," I frequently found myself brought out of the moment past how Caleb sometimes forced himself onto Libby, disregarding her protests and nearly turning the moment into potential rape. In "Times Modify," it was even worse - Jacob was oftentimes forceful with Sunny and oftened turned to threatening reactions with her; I often felt like I was reading a domestic violence situation rather than a sweet interaction between potential lovers. Another issue I had, though not as terrible as the before mentioned aspects, was the unoriginality between the two stories. It literally is the aforementioned concept - Hornblower, a man from the 23rd century, finds himself back in the past and falls in love with Stone, a woman vacationing at the family cabin to get abroad from the decorated world she lives in. Certain, at that place are differences hither and at that place with grapheme personalities and the "encounter cute," so to speak. However, it'southward still disappointing to go to "Times Change" and by the first couple chapters feel like you already know what's going to happen in the end because you are already familiar with the plot line. Overall, despite all of the negative aspects I brought up, I withal constitute myself enjoying the volume and would recommend information technology for someone looking for light sci fi romance (calorie-free beingness on the sci fi end). ...more

(After all it'southward a romance novel with all the mushy drama that a romance novel involves. Because of Caleb's concluding proper name, I constantly kept thinking of C.Southward. Forester's Captain Horatio Hornblower books that my dad used to read. That was a scrap distracting for me.)

In the 2d book Caleb'south brother Jacob travels back in fourth dimension to bring Caleb abode, and he meets Liberty's sister Sunny and predictably falls for her. I don't desire to say any more because I don't want to spoil the story for anyone else.

A very entertaining get-go coming together in that cabin that then gives way to a passionate slide into family, love, and a lovely ending. The time travel was absurd. The details about the 20-tertiary century...as well cool. Both Cal and JT take some liberties......or are forceful later being told no. I'm sorry, but even if a girl kisses y'all dorsum or looks hesitant, if she says no....BACK THE FUCK OFF, BUDDY.
JT's mental attitude nearly women enraged me. He gets amend but still has this ...superiority thing going on that I found distasteful.

This review has been subconscious because information technology contains spoilers. To view it, click here. If y'all pick this book up expecting a scientific discipline fiction related to time travel, you will be disappointed. This is merely a dear story with a setting of time travel in the background.

They're 2 centuries apart, Caleb and Liberty. The ease with which they connect seems unrealistic to me, although yes that is what Nora tried to convey - that love transcends through time. I mean yeah, they fall in love in a very brusque span of fourth dimension (Love here more often than not stands for physical allure to each other though)

The climax is good though. Having sent the send forth back. Merely again kinda predictable from the probable endings. Fourth dimension-laissez passer read. Good for romance lovers.

Information technology took a lot for me to terminate this novel and this was my second endeavor at it. Nora is one of my favorite authors, but this story dropped her rating in my opinion. I won't read this book again - very disappointed.

The story itself seemed to drag. Unlike the residue of her books, this didn't take a high point and there was no rush to find out what happens next. A dude dropped from the sky and is from 200 years into the future. Big whoop. I predicted the ending - also tedious.
